For some reason I just now searched for Dr. Osser after all these years. He fixed my teeth when I was in elementary school - rubber bands, headgear, the whole 1960s routine. I remember his face from the younger photo. He always seemed to have a good sense of humor. I'm sorry to read that he passed away only a year ago. I've been back to Hayward many times but never thought to look him up.
I actually kind of liked having orthodontist appointments. For one thing they got me out of school. Afterwards my mom usually took me to Compton's Restaurant next to Capwells. Most of the time my mouth was a little tender so I would have a dish of navy beans, a soft roll, and some custard. Good memories.
I hope Dr. Osser had a happy life, and my best wishes go to his family and friends.
