Joyce Diamond Obituary

JOYCE DIAMOND (CASSANI) Loving mother of Ann and Gary Lesser; grandmother to Ann's daughters Vanessa Anderson Smith and her husband Paul Smith, Octavia Anderson Mackey and her husband Peter Mackey, and Amber Higgins; great-grandmother to Octavia and Peter's children Conor and Kaela, and Amber's daughter Anastasia; sister of Stan Diamond and his wife Joy Diamond; aunt to Stan and Joy's children Denise Diamond, Lorie Diamond Larsen and her husband Rande Larsen, Mitchell Diamond and his wife Anne Diamond, and Michael Diamond and his wife Crystal Diamond; great-aunt to Denise's daughter Krista, Lorie and Rande's children Cole and Lily, Mitch and Anne's son Julian, and Michael and Crystal's children Kerouac, Nico and Chloe; sister to Rita Diamond Weingarten; aunt to Rita's children Jan and John Weingarten, and John's wife Lynn Weingarten; great-aunt to John's children Sarah and Joshua; daughter of Alta and Meyer Diamond. Joyce had an exuberance for life and socializing with people, was a gifted pianist who loved music and the performing arts, enjoyed nurturing beautiful gardens and flower arrangements, was wonderfully creative with an eye for visual beauty, appreciated a sense of humor, her work in the community, lovingly prepared meals, and being remembered. Joyce felt great concern for humanity, and valued creating a more humane and supportive world where needs can be met non-violently. My mother had a kindness and generosity of spirit that will be greatly missed. I am thankful for all she brought to life, and for all she taught me. Mom, May you be at peace with ease, may you have comfort with ease, may you feel loved with ease, and may your spirit be joyful with ease. With all my heart, Ann In lieu of flowers, any donations in my mother's memory are requested with appreciation to be sent to: The Teleosis Institute 1521-B Fifth Street Berkeley, CA 94710 (Phone: 510-558-7285) With gratitude, Ann
