Joseph Sena Garcia

Jose Sena Garcia, age 81, of Clovis, NM, died on Saturday, December 19, 2009, at his home in Clovis. A wake service will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at 6:00 PM at The Chapel 1500 Thornton St. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Sotero Sena officiating. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories with Military Honors. Pallbearers include Chris Garcia, Elmo Garcia, Donald Sena, Jackie Garcia, Joey Garcia, Ben Garcia, Jr., Charles Garcia, Paul Garcia, Adrian Garcia, Glen Garcia, Michael Garcia, Nano Chavez, Louis Maes, and Raymond Garcia. Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of choice.
Joe was born February 8, 1928, in Encino, NM, to Benigno and Delluvina (Sena) Garcia. He worked in maintenance at Southwestern Public Service Company and was a member of American Legion Post #25. He served in the United States Army during WWII.
Joe is survived by his longtime companion and soulmate, Viola Garcia of Portales,NM; two sons, Chris Garcia of Portales, NM, and Donald (Ann-Marie) Sena of Portales, NM. He is also survived by four sons, Benigno (Irene) Garcia of Canyon, TX, Larry (Shalonda) Garcia of Lubbock, TX, Joey (Erlene Domaskie) Garcia of Clovis, NM, and Valentine Garcia of Clovis, NM; three daughters, Elma Reyes of Clovis, NM, Christine (Edward) Sheppard of Dayton, OH, and Julie (Richard Chavez) Maes of Clovis,NM, and their mother, Celestina Sotela of Clovis, NM; one sister, Lucy (Joe) Reyes of Hobbs, NM, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Daniel Garcia; two sisters, Sally Reyes and Gloria Chavez, and three brothers, John Garcia, Manuel Garcia, Arminio Garcia, and one son-in-law, Benito Reyes.
