Funeral services for Nadine Duncan, 75, of Levelland were held on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at George Price Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Bruce Cotton of Lubbock officiating. Interment was in the Melrose North Cemetery, Melrose, New Mexico. She died Saturday, May 1, 2010, in Levelland, Texas.
Born on June 18, 1934, in Melrose, New Mexico to Henry Lorenzo and Agnes Jewell Barnes Stephens, she moved to Levelland in 1998 from Morton, Texas. She married James Albert Duncan on October 7, 1972, in Clovis, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on June 11, 1998. Nadine was a member of First Baptist Church, Morton, Texas. She had worked as a waitress, a baker, and in restaurant management and most recently as a homemaker. She was an amazing mother to her four children and a wonderful Granny to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and to many others who also know her as "Granny".
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harry (Hap) Stephens and Henry (Melvin) Stephens; five sisters, Gwynn Stephens, Betty Jo Stephens, Johnnie Mae Stephens, Billie Green, Jean Hall, and two sisters-in-law.
Survivors include her son, John (Butch) Jouett and his wife, Cheryle of Clovis, New Mexico; three daughters, Patty Grant and her husband, Roger of Levelland, Texas, Barbara Randolph and her husband, David of Little Rock, Arkansas, and LInda Hester of Bayfield, Colorado; her grandchildren, Mistry and Bernard Canady, Wendy Slaughter, Jamie and Walter Pinkert, Danielle McRorey, Tyson and Velma Grant, Roger Grant, Jr., Gina and Quint Anderson, Jason and Amber Jouett, Kathy and Buck Tibbetts, Kristie and Billy Marlin, Kenneth Knight, Nicholas Parrish, Jackie and Nicole Parrish, Kimberlee Yarborough, Arrica Yarborough and twenty two great grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Richard (Dick) Hall of Farmington, New Mexico and Sid Green of California; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
