William Howard Dirks

William (Bill) Howard Dirks, born in Canton, SD to Herb and Betty Dirks on November 13, 1953 passed away suddenly on November 21, 2007. He was preceded in death by his father Herb Dirks. Bill is survived by his wife Letitia (DeJong); daughters, Nichole Dirks and Michelle Foor (Joe); grandson, Dylan along with mother Betty; brothers, Gary (Jennie) and Monte (Luanne); sisters, Betsy (Jim) Denevan, Jean Dirks and June Greenwood. Bill was raised in Harrisburg along with short periods in Mobridge and Tyndall, SD. He graduated from Harrisburg High School where he was an all sport four year letterman and was an avid sportsman. He also attended the SD School of Mines. Bill and Tish were married in Tea, SD on August 10, 1974 and lived in Sioux Falls, SD where he worked in retail. In August, 1978 they moved to Scottsdale, AZ where their daughters were raised. They relocated to Chandler, AZ in July of 2000. Bill was involved in various aspects of the computer industry with most of his employment with DAK Industries. He enjoyed golf but in later years focused on woodworking and family genealogy with extensive research that included European travel. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 S. Dobson, Mesa, AZ.
