SIERRA Shelle Ann 9/9/1966-10/8/2013Our Shelle, beloved mother, grandmother, wife and cherished sister friend to many passed on quietly in her sleep and joined her mother & father in heaven. Shelle had a loving, forgiving & generous heart that combined with her selfless spirit touched everyone she met throughout her short life. Despite her young 47 years she could comfort & encourage many as if she was a much older & wiser soul. With her self deprecating sense of humor, she could turn an awkward or uncomfortable situation into a "bust-a-gut with tears in your eyes" laughing jag that would spare those around her of any worries or distress. She was always thinking of others. Smart & resourceful, she could match wits with anyone. Shelle Ann was born in Scottsdale, AZ on September 9, 1966 to Robert G. and Joann (Duncan) Phillips. She grew up and went to school in Mesa where she exercised her honest, hard working & responsible work ethic/values she had learned from her parents. Shelle was devoted to her mom who she lost to breast cancer in 1991 and her dad who passed away due to congestive heart disease last year. Shelle was inconsolable with the loss of her parents for the rest of her life and she would ultimately succumb to the same heart disease as her dad. Shelle's real & greatest joy was her two beautiful daughters and two granddaughters. She would proudly attest that she had passed her humor genes on to her children which was evident every time she recounted a funny story about them. They were her life! Shelle is survived by her husband Jose Freddy Sierra of Mesa, her daughters Darolyn Newton and Miranda Sierra, her granddaughters Jadyn and Trinity, sister Paddy in Montana, brother Jerry Phillips of Pinetop, AZ, sister Bobbie Lee of Rifle, CO, Uncle Bill Phillips & wife Marcella of Pinetop, AZ, her lifelong sister friend Kelly Urban and her "2nd mom" Linda "Mimi" Davis both of Mesa. There are other relatives and many dear friends too numerous to mention here. Preceding her in death are her mom, Joann and dad, Bob. Also passed, her grandparents Carrie & Robert Phillips and father in-law Manuel Sierra.Cremation has taken place by Meldrum Mortuary. A memorial will be announced at a later date on the guest book at Meldrum Mortuary. Family & friends are encouraged to visit the website http://www.meldrummortuary.com to sign the guest book and share Shelle stories.Rest now in Peace Shelle. Your loved ones will forever miss you, forever love you and forever cherish your memory.
