Tiffany Modic Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 20, 2008.
Tiffany Culy Modic, 28, died on September 14, 2008, after a 7-month wait for a second liver transplant that never came. Her loving family was at her side. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service was held Wednesday, September 17, 2008, on a mountain near Phoenix, AZ where she and her husband were married. Born on January 28, 1980, Tiffany moved to Saline, MI with her family in 1988 where she graduated from high school in 1998. A victim of Wilson's Disease, Tiffany narrowly escaped death in 1997 when a generous family provided "the gift of life" and her first liver transplant was performed. Upon recovery and enjoying good health, she moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1999, where she attended Arizona State University. Until February of this year, Tiffany was an Accounting Coordinator in HR at Wild Oats. She met her husband, Clayton Modic, in 2002, and they have two precious children, Malaya Marie, age 3, and Kai David, age 1. She is survived by Clay, Malaya and Kai, her father, David Culy (Rhonda Mathis) of Houston, TX, her sister, Jessica (Mike) Comfort, of Los Angeles, CA, her brother, Craig Culy (Jennifer Arn) of Phoenix, AZ, mother-in-law Maria Modic of Phoenix, AZ, parental-in-laws Chris and Gwen Modic of Fontana, CA, grandparents Dave and Linda Peters of Portland IN, and many close friends including Tara Kantner Mahoney of Ypsilanti, MI, Mia Ratkiewicz of Phoenix, AZ, and Beth Jeryc of Ann Arbor, MI. A devoted wife, loving mother, affectionate daughter, loving sister and loyal friend, Tiffany was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. Lost to us much too soon, she will be mourned and missed by many, and forever in our hearts. In memory of Tiffany, her family urges everyone to register as an organ donor (www.organdonor.gov)
