TIBSHRAENYHazelof Mesa, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 17, surrounded by her loving family. Hazel was born in Portland, Oregon to Thomas and Elizabeth Zidan on August 3, 1914. She moved to Mesa after her marriage to Iser Tibshraeny in 1934. She is survived by her daughters, Florence Hanna Don, Carole Fischer Paul, son Gary Lisa, daughter-in-law Susan, twin sisters Joan Saba Dave and Jean Zidan. She was preceded in death by Iser, her husband of 69 years, son Nick Tibshraeny, her sister Florence and brother Richard. The light of her life were 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and her many nieces and nephews. Hazel and her husband were active members of St Mark's Episcopal Church for more than 70 years. She was a member of P.E.O. Chapter K, an original member of The Desert Club of Mesa, Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, Mesa Music guild and a founding member of the Sirrine Adult Day Care Auxiliary. She actively supported her late husband's membership in the Mesa Rotary Club, traveling to two International Rotary Conventions in Japan and South America. She and Iser were among the first members of the Mesa Country Club. Her loving and caring spirit for others was shared as a volunteer at the Mesa Lutheran Hospital. She will always be remembered for her deep faith in God, hospitality and generous nature, but most of all her love of family. She was blessed by her many friends and will be greatly missed. A private family service is being planned. The family thanks the kind and loving care givers at the Courtyard Towers of Mesa and Hospice of the Valley. Donations may be made to St Mark's Episcopal Church, 322 North Horne, Mesa, or Hospice of the Valley Arbor Home, 6063 East Arbor Avenue, Mesa. Meldrum Mortuary handled the arrangements.
