Daylene Nedra (Clover) MacKay

Daylene Nedra MacKay passed away peacefully in her home with family by her side on June 1, 2013 after a lengthy illness. She was born to Dale and Frances Clover at Woodland Hospital in Woodland, California in 1941.
She was a graduate of West Acres Elementary School in West Sacramento on June 9, 1955 and from James Marshall High School in West Sacramento in on June 8, 1959. During her school years she enjoyed participating in various sports such as: running track, playing volleyball, and basketball.
On September 4, 1960, she married her sweetheart Dennis MacKay at the St. John's Lutheran Church and they lived in Sacramento, California.
In 1961 they moved to West Sacramento. During this time her family grew with the births of two boys. In 1970 the family moved to Foresthill, California where Daylene maintained her home and family with loving care, while raising her two young boys through their school years.
Daylene enjoyed talking with her friends on the "C.B." radio with the handle of "Lady Mack". She enjoyed tending to her flowers in her flower gardens, and her fish in her garden pond. She enjoyed feeding the interacting with the various wildlife; birds, squirrels and deer that would come to visit her daily while she was in her gardens.
Daylene further enjoyed volunteering: She was a volunteer for the Placer County Sheriff's Office since October 13, 1994 to present. She was recognized by the Placer county Board of Supervisors and awarded for her excellent services to the citizens of Placer County through her dedicated services at the Foresthill Sub Station.
She also volunteered for the Foresthill Volunteer Fire Department since May 1995, working tireless hours to raise money through the community yard sale for the volunteer fire personnel.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Dennis MacKay, her son's Baret and Mark (their wives DeeDee and Audra), 5 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Dale and Frances Clover, and her brother Robert Clover.
No service is planned at this time. A family memorial will be announced at a later date for family and close friends. Daylene was such a vibrant member of the Sheriff's Office Foresthill Substation and will be deeply missed by all. Many thanks to her family for supporting her in giving of her time and talents to the Placer County Sheriff's Office volunteer organization for so many years!
