Ben Parra

Ben Parra, 90 years of age, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Roseville Sutter Hospital.
Ben was born Februaury 2, 1923 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. His parents were Cruz and Ramona Parra. Ben graduated from Lincoln High School in 1943. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S Navy.
After he was discharged from the Navy, he went to work at McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento, California. He worked at that site until his retirement.
Ben was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Lincoln, California. While in high school, he enjoyed playing the trumpet and listening to music. He loved walking around the town of lincoln.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Jerry, Nathan and Frank Parra. Services for Ben will be on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, located at 280 Oak Tree Lane, Lincoln, California. He will be laid to rest at the Lincoln Cemetery at 1st and O Street in Lincoln, California. Friends are invited to attend a reception after the burial at St. Joseph Parish Hall, located at 6th and D Street, Lincoln, Calif. Arrangements made by the Lassla Funeral Home and Lincoln Cemetery.
We would especially like to thank the Roseville Sutter Hospital for their care and concern for Ben. Also to the A Voice for Seniors Agency for their support and help.

I was sorry to hear about Benny. Although I had not seen him in years my dad spoke of him often. I remember when Beny and my dad went to see my brother Nick play ball out of state. That was a great road trip full of memories! He was a wonderful man. God bless.
