Lee Smith 02/22/1933 - 07/28/2015 A native of Michigan, Lee was raised primarily in California. He graduated from Eldorado High School in Placerville, Sierra Junior College and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo as an Electrical Engineer. After graduation he worked for Westinghouse Electric in Pittsburgh, Pa. During his years there he attended University of Pittsburgh and received an MBA. After 17 years he returned to California for the rest of his career. He was a member of Intl Electrical & Electronics Engineers. He participated on an international standards committee for electrical development. He raised his family and was married to his wife Betty for 61 years. He died surrounded by his family after struggling with health issues. He is survived by his wife Betty, son Kevin (Kim) and daughter Leann (Michael), 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, two siblings, Edna and Rex, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Lee enjoyed spending holidays at large family gatherings and summer vacations at Lake Tahoe with family. European vacations with Betty were a highlight. He traveled the world extensively for business. Lee led an interesting and fulfilling life. He will be missed by all. A Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date in Auburn. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
