10/3/1931 - 4/21/2013
Barbara Alice Fenton, of Granite Bay, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 21, 2013 at the age of 81. Born on October 3, 1931, to Mildred M. and Lemuel Bethurum in Johnston, Colorado, where she lived until her family moved to Calif.
She is survived by her husband, Robert, whom she met while he was serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. She is also survived by her daughter, Diana and her husband Daniel Abeyta; her son, Michael Fenton; grandchildren: Jennifer and Jason Newman, Aidan and Kieran Fenton; great-granddaughter, Kylie Moore; sister-in-law, Carol Bethurum; and many nieces and nephews.
Barbara worked for several years as a cosmetologist and enjoyed gardening, knitting, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a devoted Marine Corps wife and active with her husband in veterans organizations. She loved children and she was second mom to three generations in her neighborhood...sharing fruit and vegetables from the garden and even allowing them to grow their own vegetables in a plot in the garden.
Barbara will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, for her hospitality, sense of humor, her loving and generous manner. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jack Behurum; and her sister, Betty Chiaroni.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. May 9, 2013 at Bayside Church, 8171 Sierra College Blvd., Roseville, CA 95661, Room B-120. A private interment will be held at a later date in Southern Calif. To share a memory and sign guestbook visit www.lambertfuneral.com
