Benny was born in Nebraska in 1943, his family moved to California in 1958. He was in the first graduating class at Encina High School in Sacramento, Calif., in 1961. Benny liked to go by his middle name "Joe". Joe proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1967. He was also a proud member of the Ironworkers Union Local 118 for 51 years. Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Jaylene. Joe is also survived by his three brothers, Jim of Wheatland, Calif., Larry of Loomis, Calif., and Richard of Wheatland, Calif. Also by his four children Renee and her husband Bobby of Reno, Nev., Lorrie and her husband Chris of Elko, Nev., Leesa and her husband Clint of Lincoln Calif., and Joe and his wife Jaime of Brentwood, Calif. Joe also is survived by his 11 grandchildren: Teresa, Zach, Doug, Amanda, Chase, Colbie, Makayla, Pierce, Allison, Bilee, and Andrew. He is also survived by his three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Shawn and Elise. The memorial service will be held on November 17, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Calif. Immediately following the memorial there will be a Celebration of Life in the pavilion at McBean Park in Lincoln. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church.
