Betty Ona Braly (née O'Connor) passed away on December 30, 2012 in Roseville, Calif. She was 88. She was born in Globe, Ariz., on November 13, 1924 and raised in Nevada City, Calif. She lived in several other cities in Calif., including La Jolla, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, Boyes Hot Springs, Eureka, Santa Rosa, Davis, Sacramento, and Auburn.
She was preceded in death by her father, Francis Clyde O'Connor; mother, Leona Frances (née Butler); brother, James O'Connor; husband, James Whisman Braly; daughter, Marian Sargenti; and granddaughter, Briana Ona Braly. She leaves behind brothers, Francis and Patrick O'Connor; children: Carole Liebzeit (Ed), Bruce Braly (On), Gloria Brennan (Walt), Catherine Graff (Paul), and Richard Braly; grandchildren: Jason Liebzeit, Michael Braly, Matthew Braly, Ian Wiseman, Annabelle Eicher (Bill), Agostino Sargenti (Wanee), and Andrew Ross; and great-grandchildren: Chris Sargenti, Justin Eicher, and Taylor Eicher.
She graduated from CSUS and was a compassionate teacher in the Roseville school district from 1975 to 2007, often working as a long-term sub. She was a student of human nature and was always interested in fashion, travel, music, and the arts. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved laughing, reading, singing, dancing, swimming, drawing, painting, and being with her family.
