Louis Angelo Franchimone, Sr. was born in Pittston, Pa., on October 8, 1922 and passed away unexpectedly on January 12, 2014 at the age of 91.
Lou lived in Lincoln for 40 years and in Roseville 30 years. In 1947 Lou and his wife Marion partnered with her brother John and his wife Eleanor to open John and Lou's East Avenue Market which operated for 32 years. He was a charter member of the Lincoln Lions Club, a former Lincoln City Councilman and an active member of his church and community.
Lou is survived by sons: Lou Jr. (Lois) and Terry (Danette); grandchildren: Tony (Jessalyn), Chris, Dustin, Ashlee (Grant) and Lindsey; (Kevin); six great-grandchildren; his brother, August; and a sister, Caroline; beloved nieces and nephews; close friend and companion, Ann Busick; and many friends and associates. He was proceeded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Marion Carnesecca.
A visitation and rosary in scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2014, at Cochrane & Wagemann, 103 Lincoln St. in Roseville, Calif. A funeral mass will be held on Friday January 17, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, 615 Vine Ave., Roseville.
