Charleen Patricia (Piazza) Bielski
1934 - 2013
Passed away quietly at home on the morning of April 27, 2013. She is survived by her husband of nearly 61 years, Niel; son, Michael and daughter-in-law, Kelley; grandson, Michael; and a large extended family.
Born in Chicago, Ill., to Salvatore (Sam) and Caroline Piazza, she was the second of four children. Her parents, older sister, Antionette (Kulasa), younger sister Rosemarie (McCoy), and younger brother, Joseph preceded her in death.
Charleen grew up in LaPorte and Rolling Prairie, Ind., and attended Rolling Prairie High School. After marrying Niel, she moved with him to Seattle, Wash., later to Sacramento, Calif., and finally to Loomis, Calif. Her life was filled with friends and family, which were always important to her. She loved popcorn anytime, movies, and going out to eat but wasn't as adventuresome when it came to traveling, preferring to travel by car instead of flying.
There will be a viewing Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary service at 6 p.m. and a funeral service will be Friday, May 3, 2013 at 10 a.m. all at PRICE FUNERAL CHAPEL (6335 Sunrise Blvd., Citrus Heights, 916-725-2109). Charleen will be laid to rest in Cavalry Cemetery near family members at 11:30 a.m. A celebration of life will follow at the Auburn Elks Lodge from 12 to 3 p.m.
