James Maxwell Gill

James Maxwell Gill, born July 14, 1925. Passed away April 22, 2013 peacefully with his family by his side.
Jim retired from Roseville High School after 42 years of teaching. He was also retired from American River College.
World War II, USN Veteran who served proudly on the USS Saint Paul. He was a Charter Member of the Roseville Elks Lodge, #2248, Roseville Teachers Association, National Education Association and the California Teachers Associations.
Jim loved teaching and though his mind and body were failing he refused to lose his sense of humor and as he had done throughout his life he enjoyed a good joke or prank and smiling with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Burrier-Gill, daughter Mary Gill, son James Gill, stepsons Bill, Robert and wife Julie, Michael and wife Desiree Burrier.
Grandchildren Charissa, Christopher, Sara and Seth Gill; Zane, Jace, Kyle, Brock, Drake, Logan, Delaney and Nevaeh Burrier. Jim was proceeded in death by grandson Baxter Burrier.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, April 29, 2013, at the Roseville Elks Lodge, 3000 Brady Ln., Roseville, CA 95747. Family and friends are invited to celebrate with Liz and Family.
