AMELIO, Nicola On April 13, 2015, Mr. Nicola Amelio of Edmonton passed away at the age of 88 years. Nicola is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Elisabetta; one son and two daughters, Salvatore (Carol), Antonia Kalita and Josephine Amelio (Don); son-in- law, Dermot McCaw; nine grandchildren, Dianne (Brian), Tommy, Alexander, Delainey, Adriana, Julia, Micaela, Nicole and Patrick; one great-grandson, Kendrick; and one brother, Domenico Amelio. Predeceased by his daughter, Carmela Amelio-McCaw and son-in-law, Gene Kalita. The family wishes to thank Dr. Grant Campbell for his thoughtful care of our father and Father Stefano Penna for his spiritual support and friendship over the years. Prayers (in Italian) Friday, April 17 at 6:00 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial (in English) Saturday, April 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Santa Maria Goretti Roman Catholic Church, 9110 – 110 Avenue. BANCROFT, Judith Our beloved mother Judy Bancroft was born July 21,1944 and passed away April 9, 2015. My Dad, Ken, adored his "JB". She loved him fervently! Her children and her family are forever grateful to have had her with us for so long despite many prognoses that the end of her life was near. She leaves behind cherished family and so many special friends. All of you touched her life with your love and support, generosity and inspiration. Thank You. There are many who will miss Judy but they will remember her quiet and strong faith in life. The Funeral Mass will be held April 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St.Thomas More, followed by a luncheon celebration at Whitemud Creek Community Hall at 1:30 p.m. Our family feels grateful to all of her caregivers and the wonderful staff from 5A7, the Mazankowski CCU. BARBER, Deanna May Of Edmonton, AB passed away at the age of 76 on Thursday, April 9, 2015. Deanna was predeceased by her husband George (2014). Survived by her daughter, Heather (James-predeceased), sons; George and Tom (Aimee); granddaughters Elisha, Sarah, and Aline; Brother Lloyd (Carol-predeceased); sister-in-law Rose as well as many nieces and nephews. Deanna was predeceased by her parents Thora and Harry Cole; brother Harry and uncle Tommy Aspery. The family invites all who knew Deanna to attend her funeral service on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 3 p.m. at the Salvation Army Edmonton Temple Corps in Edmonton, AB (9115-75 Street). BARNES, Gordon  
BARNES, Gordon Harold July 10, 1937 – March 31, 2015 On March 31, 2015, Gordon Harold Barnes of Edmonton passed away suddenly at the age of 77 years. Gordon started out as a cheerful and optimistic child who progressed to an advanced education in Engineering at the University of Alberta. As for all of us, his life was filled with both triumph and sorrow. Now it is his family who feel the sorrow. Gordon is survived by his sister, Bunny; brother, Larry (Suisse) and Fred; uncle of four nieces and seven nephews. Gordon is the grandson of the late S. A. G. and Florence Barnes; and beloved son of the late Fred and Julia Barnes. In keeping with Gordon's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Private Funeral Service will be held at a later date. BARTOSIEWICZ, Marian Walter On April 14, 2015, Marian Walter Bartosiewicz of Edmonton passed away at the age of 84 years. Marian is survived by his beloved wife, Stasia; devoted daughter-in-law, Zofia and husband, Jozef; grandson, Martin; granddaughter, Katherine; and extended family in Canada and Poland. Predeceased by parents, Wladyslaw and Malgorzata Bartosiewicz; son, Zbigniew and daughter- in-law, Theresa in 1979 and son, Robert in 1996; and his siblings. Special thanks to Dr. Z. Sawicki for his care and compassion shown to Marian. Prayers Thursday, April 16 at 8:00 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue. BASSANI, Rino  
BASSANI, Rino July 15, 1915 – April 16, 2015 Mr. Rino Bassani of Barrhead, previously of Naples, passed away peacefully April 16, 2015 at the age of 99. Rino is survived by sisters Rita Johnson of Westlock, brother Jim of Edmonton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Rino was predeceased by his wife Betty and parents Virginia and Paulo Bassani, brother Buck, Cuff, Maggio, Darvin, Paul and Pep, sisters Amelia Rosie and Emma. Rino owned and operated a grain/freight truck in Naples area during the 1940's and 1950's. He was also the community mechanic for many years. Rino volunteered many hours to the Naples community in past years. The family would like to thank the Nurses and staff of Shepherd's Care Barrhead, for the loving care they provided for Rino in his last few years of his life. A memorial service will be held at Rose Garden Chapel funeral home in Barrhead, April 21, 2015 at 2 p.m. Interment will be at the mellowdale community cemetery following the service. Bell, Elizabeth JEAN  
Elizabeth JEAN Bell February 26th, 1929 - February 26th, 2015 Jean will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her brother Ian (Joan); sons David (Michele), Graeme (Joan) and Gordon (Julia); her grandchildren Bronwen (Frank), Sean, Chris, Catherine and Callum. Jean was predeceased by her husband Harold, her infant daughter Elizabeth and her brothers Donald, Doug and Cam. Jean was a wonderful mom to her boys, a devoted wife and a special friend to many. She loved life, lived well, persevered through adversity and made a difference. The funeral will be at St. George's Anglican Church on April 25th at 1:00 pm.

BERRY, Ruth It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Ruth Berry at the age of 92. She is survived by her children Greg (Karen), Anne (Larry), and Elaine (Herb); her grandchildren Cheryl, Lisa (Andy), Matthew (Angila), Nathan, Maegan, David, Palmer; and her great-grandchildren Grayson, Gabrielle, Rose, Madalyn, and Sylvia. She was predeceased by her husband Gerald. There will be a family graveside service. She was a caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed.

BIBKEWICH, Katie On Sunday, April 12, 2015, Mrs. Katie Bibkewich of Vegreville, Alberta peacefully passed away at the age of 103 years. Katie is survived by her loving family, one son Bill (Dianna) Bibkewich; two daughters Natalie (Walter) Mayowski and Patricia (Richard) Komarniski; six grandchildren Lorne (Maria) Saina, Lori Menshik, Rosanne (Mike) Masse, Leslie (Kelly) Bibkewich, Mike (Celeste) Bibkewich and Darcy (Tamara) Bibkewich; seven great- grandchildren Katrina and Danielle Saina, Jude and Raya Bibkewich, Kaydence, Kate and Ella Bibkewich; along with numerous nieces, nephews and relatives in Ukraine. Katie was predeceased by her husband Dmetro; her parents Basil and Maria Olijnyk; four brothers and three sisters. A Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church (5705-51 St.) in Vegreville, Alberta with the Basilian Fathers officiating.
