McCOY, Dorothy (Dot) Ann
On January 17, 2013, Dorothy McCoy of Edmonton passed away unexpectedly at the age of 77 years as a result of a stroke.
Dorothy, our favorite aunt was born on June 6, 1935 in Hardisty, AB to parents, Carl and Leslie Baker. She worked for TCA which would become Air Canada, and later in life she would try her hand at real estate. Dorothy enjoyed travel, was an avid golfer, loved to sew and knit and was always available for an adventure. In 1978 she married Bert McCoy. Dot and Bert spent their summers in the Shuswap or Buck Lake and their winters in Phoenix. She will be forever remembered and missed by her brother, Don; numerous nieces, nephews; and friends. Predeceased by her loving husband, Bert McCoy; her parents; and two brothers, Jim and Richard.
A Celebration of Dorothy's Life will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Hainstock's Funeral Home, 9810-34 Avenue, Edmonton. Inurnment to follow at a later date in the Hardisty Cemetery. In lieu of floral tributes, memorial donations in memory of Dorothy, may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
