Elizabeth DERSCH

DERSCH, Elizabeth Lee
October 28, 1930 - April 10, 2013
Elizabeth Lee, known fondly to her family and friends as Betty, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on April 10, 2013.
Betty is survived by her sons, Doug (Karen) of Edson, Ron (Laurie) of St. Albert, and Kevin (Maryanne) of Houston, TX; grandsons, Chad of Red Deer and Craig (Raelene) of Edmonton; and sister, Margaret of Calgary.
She was predeceased by her husband and best friend of 54 years, Harry; her parents; and brothers.
Betty was born in Wetaskiwin on October 28, 1930. She attended school in Wetaskiwin, Camrose and Edmonton where she graduated from nursing school at the General Hospital in 1954. Her careers were in nursing, foot care, and the motel industry. After retiring from the motel in 1997, Betty and Harry continued to enjoy their cabin on Moose Lake. Following Harry's passing, she moved to Edmonton. Her calling in life was keeping people happy and putting others' needs before her own, to which many, including the residents of The Lifestyle Options retirement community at Riverbend in Edmonton would attest. Betty will be missed by so many whose lives she touched.
A Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Lung Association, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of the donor's choice.
