CHRISTOPHERSON, Frances Noreen (nee Farley)
Surrounded by her loving family, Fran Christopherson passed away peacefully at Delta Hospital December 8, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Fran was born in Saskatoon in 1931 to Margaret (Peg) and Frank Farley; the family later moving to the Garneau area of Edmonton in 1937. Here, Fran forged many of her remarkable lifelong friendships. She graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Commerce in 1952.
Fran married Ray Christopherson of Vancouver, B.C. in 1956. Together they raised three children while Ray's work took them around the world with postings in India, East Africa, California, Toronto, Montreal, Kuwait and - for 20 years -England. Fran's generosity of spirit ensured her circle of friends grew with every new place she called home.
A lifelong golfer, Fran spent many happy days at the Mannings Health Golf Club in West Sussex, England, once proudly serving as Lady Captain. Fran welcomed many visiting family and friends into the Christopherson home in England.
In 2003, the Christophersons moved to Tsawwassen, B.C. where Fran cherished her new role as grandmother to Jeremy (Christopherson) and Madeleine and Nicholas (Keenleyside).
Fran is predeceased by her parents, sister Jean (Gottfred) and brother Jack Farley. She is survived by husband Ray, daughter Peg Keenleyside (Eric), sons Peter (Claire) and Ray (Cheryl) and nieces Susan and Sandra (nee Farley), nephew Jeff (Gottfred) and her grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, thank you for your donation to the Delta Hospital Foundation.
