On November 22, 2013, Frank Latour of Edmonton slipped away in peaceful slumber at age 86.
An army veteran and exemplary longtime volunteer, Frank was a witty, no-nonsense man whose approach to life was filled with joy, humour, a good laugh and friendships. His presence at bingos, casinos, cultural events (cook) are unheralded. Truly a "giver" in the Edmonton area, he will be fondly remembered and cherished for his carefree attitude and giving nature.
Frank is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy; daughter, Corrine Vickers; son-in- law, Ed Paradis; six grandchildren, Renny and Jason (Sandra) Latour, Adrian (Trisha) Paradis, Chad (Natalie) Paradis, Amber (Kevin) Ballerman, Dwayne Winters; and five greats, Gavin, Brennan, Rebecca, Emily, Edwin. Frank will be missed by numerous friends whose lives he touched and loved along life's road. He walked a good road and the world's a better place thanks to his giving back for many charitable causes. His family can be immeasurably proud of him.
A special memorial will be held at Edmonton Aboriginal Seniors Centre, 10107 - 134 Avenue, Edmonton, on Saturday, November 30 at 2:00 p.m. As Frank wished, cremation has taken place.
