TAYLOR, Helen "Marie"
July 17, 1919 – December 15, 2012
It is with sorrow we announced the death of Helen "Marie" Taylor Saturday December 15, 2012 at the age of ninety three. Marie was born in Deloraine, Manitoba to Nellie and Henry Boles. She earned her Registered Nursing Certificate from the Portage la Prairie School of Nursing in 1941. While she took time away to raise her family, she dedicated more than thirty years to nursing at the Edmonton General Hospital.
Marie was gracious, generous and kind. Her hard work ethic and sense of duty fostered independence and self-assurance in others. A bright smile and the sparkle in her eye always drew people close, not to mention her delicious baked goods which were highly sought after. She had a fun-loving and mischievous side which contrasted her customary respectful and practical approach. Marie will be dearly remembered by those whose lives she touched.
Marie was predeceased by her loving husband Herb and her daughter Lesley. She is survived by her children Hal (Valerie), Richard (Shannon), Kevin (Toba); grandchildren Tamara, Michelle, Jason, Brandon, Travis; great-grandchildren Dario, Toren, Isabelle and Camryn; Marie will also be remembered by her nieces Pat and Sandy; nephews Dan, Bart and Blair, as well as many extended family members and friends.
Please join us as we celebrate her life Saturday, December 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Howard & McBride Westlawn Chapel, 16310 Stony Plain Road, Edmonton, AB. with an interment and reception to follow.
Floral tributes are gratefully declined. Memorial donations may be made to Edmonton Stars Air Ambulance.
