Jessie FLYNN

FLYNN, Jessie
January 5, 1928 – December 14, 2012
Jessie Flynn passed peacefully in her sleep at Jasper Place Lodge in Edmonton where she was a resident for the past year. Jessie will be dearly missed by her husband of 61 years, Terry and their children: Kathy (Wayne), Paul (Linda), Maureen and Roy (Penny), as well as her grandchildren: Jennifer, Jonathan, Scott, Marc, Sean and Taylor.
Born in Toronto, Jessie was a member of St. George's Anglican Church in Pickering Village, On and worked part-time at Ajax General Hospital. Jessie was recognized by the Red Cross for her contributions as a blood donor, her leadership with the local Boys Scout organization, contributions to Meals on Wheels and other community groups. Jessie, Terry and Maureen moved west in 1990 to be close to their grandchildren. Jessie then became a member of St. Matthias Anglican Church and a grandparent helper at LaPerle School, forging many close relationships. She enjoyed many hobbies – particularly arts and craft projects with her grandchildren. Thank you to the staff of Jasper Place Lodge for their thoughtful care during her stay.
A Celebration of Life service will take place Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthias Anglican Church, 6210 188 Street, Edmonton, AB. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to be made to the Alzheimer Society Research Program through Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories.
