YOUNG, John Murray
John passed away peacefully on February 24, 2013 in his 99th year in Edmonton, Alberta.
Born in Peru, August 10, 1913 he grew up in Brampton and Toronto. He served in WWII in England with the Governor General's Horse Guard Regiment. John graduated from the University of Toronto in Mechanical Engineering, working for many years with IPL (now Enbridge). He was a keen tennis, squash, badminton, golfer and bridge player. John was an honorary member of the Royal Glenora Club (Edmonton) and a member of the Avon Glen Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite.
John will be greatly missed by his loving wife Olivia of 50 years, one sister and many nieces and nephews.
A quiet Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations would be gratefully received by the John and Olivia Fund with the Edmonton Community Foundation c/o Kathy Hawkesworth, 9910 – 103 Street N.W., Edmonton, Alberta T5K 2V7.
