It is with great sadness to announce that in the early hours on Sunday, December 23, 2012 our dear and precious mom and Baba passed away with her devoted daughter Lorraine by her side. After a life dedicated to her family she now joins her husband John in eternal peace.
Kay, or affectionately referred to as "Baba", will be dearly missed by her children, daughter Lorraine (Neil) Gilroyed, George (Susan), Bill (Charmaine) and Dale; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; sisters Ann (Bob) Chipchura and Stella Hayduk and several nieces, nephews and friends. Kay was predeceased by her husband, John (1989); infant son, Donnie (1955); daughter, June Toronchuk (2008); infant granddaughter, Jolene Toronchuk (1975); parents, John and Mary Chayka; brothers, John, Steve; and sisters, Mary, Pearl Chyz, Olga Sherbaniuk and Jean.
After our father died mom stayed on in her home they bought in 1954, taking meticulous care of her yard, garden and flowers. During all of the years she loved to be with her family whenever possible, and especially loved the visits from her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. We love you Mom and we truly thank you for all the sacrifices you made and most importantly for being our mother. Rest in peace now mom for we will carry the touch for you.
