Olga Alksne

ALKSNE, Olga February 22, 1918 - June 21, 2009 It is with great sadness that the family of Mrs. Olga Alksne announce her peaceful passing into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, June 21, 2009 at the age of 91 years, loving wife of the late Reverend Roman Alksne. Left to cherish Olga's memory are her five children; Johanna Tataryn of Saskatoon, Sask; Veronika (Reverend Bill Kiesman) of Salmon Arm, B.C; Pastor Arnold (Norma) Alksne of Calgary, AB; Evelyn (Horst) Ramanauskas of St. Albert, AB; and Walter (Sheila) Alksne of Hanna, AB. Olga will also be remembered by daughter-in-law Karen Alksne of Edmonton, AB; twenty two grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, her sister Lydia Krcadinac of Winnipeg, MB; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Reverend Roman Alksne, Olga was predeceased by her son Reginald, son in law Elmer Tataryn, her parents Reimund and Anna Greiss, as well as eight brothers and sisters. The family would like to thank those who cared for Olga at the Zetter Care Center and also Dr. Kaiser and Dr. Kachope, as well as all the nursing staff at the Misericordia Hopital. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Memories Funeral Home, 13043 St. Albert Trail, on Thursday, June 25, 2009 between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 10759-96 Street, on Friday, June 26, 2009 at 11:00 a.m.; with Pastor Sigmar Reichel officiating. Interment will follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Heimthal, Alberta. Memorial donations can be made directly to St. John's Lutheran Church Edmonton; LIME (Lutheran Institutional Ministries Edmonton) or the Good Samaritan Society of Edmonton.
