GREEN, Peggy (née Halsey)
Hurray for a long life well lived!
Peggy Green, age 89, died peacefully on January 24, 2013 at Sherwood Park. Her life is lovingly celebrated by her 7 children, 16 grandchildren, 2 (almost 3!) great- grandchildren, her extended family and many friends.
Devoted wife of Dr. R. Glen Green, Peggy was also a beloved daughter, sister, mother, sister-in-law, aunt and loyal friend.
Peggy's life was exemplified by her service to others. She was a longtime member of St. Alban's Cathedral, the Regent of IODE, and a recipient of Rotary's Paul Harris Fellow for her exceptional commitment to her community. A tireless volunteer, dedicated organizer, political campaigner, ambassador for the arts, registered nurse, gardener, photographer, bridge and tennis player, chief cook and bottle washer; Peggy was also widely regarded as "the hostess with the mostest".
Peggy will be deeply missed by her children and their families: Margot Hornseth (Joe Sporta) of Orangeville, ON, Susan Green (Stewart Roth) of Edmonton, Janet-Laine Green (Booth Savage) of Tottenham, ON, Wendy Finlay of Toronto, PL Bastian (James) of Regina; John Green (Karren) of Saskatoon and Dawn Green (Gary Shelton) of Sherwood Park.
Peggy's life will be celebrated at noon on February 8 at St. Alban's Cathedral, 1410 Bishop McLean Crescent, Prince Albert, SK, S6V 4Z2.
