On December 13, 2012 Sebastian Dudok van Heel of Edmonton passed away peacefully at the age of 87 years.
Sebastian Dudok van Heel was born in the Dutch East Indies and educated in Switzerland and Holland. He flew with the Dutch Air Force in the far east from 1945 - 1948, thereafter joining the Aviation Department of Esso Nederland in the Hague transferring in 1953 to Imperial Oil in Canada. In 1975 he established and led Shelco Developments in Edmonton and on Vancouver Island. Sea Scouting was dear to his heart as was the troop he established on Lake Wabamun where six Flying Juniors were donated by Poole Construction, for their constant use.
His membership as a Master Mason in the Scottish Rite and as a Shriner spanned over 50 years. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 64 years, Ursula; children, Brenda and Brian; grandchildren, Adrienne and Bryce; numerous nephews and nieces in both Holland and England as well as countless friends in Canada and the Air Force. Respecting his wishes a formal Memorial Service and interment has taken place with his close family present.
