Hi Ray. I miss you brother. We had so many battles against each other. You were a proud Maple Leaf and I was a proud Knights of Columbus. We were reunited on a relay team that broke the city record in 1980, we did it brother along with Coach Wowk, Jeff Funtasz and Kevin Kuch. That record stood for over three decades. Ray I always looked up to you. You were very special to me and I’m positive I will pass that iconic white baton to you and we can feel the air through our hair. I love you man! My heart has never been the same. My love goes to you and your family. God Bless.

We were lucky to have Coach Ray as a leader in coaching of the St. Edmunds Hockey Academy. Our son Owen has fond memories of Coach Ray. He loved that he had a special nickname for each of the kids on the ice and that he was always smiling. A favourite Coach for many of the students! Ray was so kind, happy, funny and fantastic with the kids. We are sorry for your loss.

My thoughts are with the Podloski family during this difficult time. I played hockey with Ray as a kid when we practiced and played outdoors for St. Francis. My dad was the coach and often talked about Ray. He was a great hockey player and even a better person. So were his parents. Great people.

I was fortunate enough to meet Ray and his family some 40 years ago at a Hockey tryout, we played together for a couple years then against each other for a few more and have stayed friends ever since. The news of Ray's passing hit me hard and I will miss our conversations about the past and trying to book around his busy schedule to work in some training with my boys hockey teams. I will miss you my friend. God Bless the Podloski family during this time.

Ray has always been one of my favorite hockey players. I enjoyed watching him mature as a player and a young man during his days with the Portland WinterHawks. I was thrilled to meet him again when he returned to Portland to celebrate the anniversary of the Memorial Cup. I was so proud to see that the hockey player of character had turned into a man of character. His hard work and dedication displayed on the ice served him well. I was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. I want his family to know how very much Ray has been, and will continue to be, a major part of my continuing love of hockey. He truly touched my heart, and I hope that will be of some solace to Ray's family both now and in the future.
