STIRTON, Margaret Louise 1910 - 2006 Margaret Louise Stirton (nee Woodman) went to join the Lord on Saturday, April 22, 2006. Margaret was born on December 13, 1910, the last of eight children of Sophia and John Woodman of Winnipeg. She traveled extensively in her youth and eventually married Jeffrey Stirton and with him, settled in Ottawa and Edmonton. She was predeceased by her husband Jeffrey, her mother and father and all of her seven brothers and sisters. After her husband's death she wrote and published his biography and later wrote and published her own autobiography. She moved to Calgary in late 2004 to be closer to her family. She is survived by her daughter Sally Reynolds (Peter), son Ted Stirton (Debbie), her daughter-in-law Audrey, four grandchildren, Suzy, Lindsay, Michael and Jeffrey and by her great-grandson Brayden. The family would like to thank the staff of the Beverly Centre, Glenmore Landing for the care they extended Margaret in her last few months of life and special thanks to Leony and Wennie for their loving care of Mom. If friends so desire, donations be made in Margaret's name to the Canadian National Institute for Blind, 15 Colonel Baker Place NE, Calgary, Alberta T2E 4Z3. A Memorial Service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, 6351 Ranchview Dr. N.W. Calgary, Alberta on Thursday, April 27, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Leyden's Funeral Home, Crematorium and Reception Centre. Telephone 403-228-4422. www.leydens.com
