William WIGGINS Obituary
On Wednesday, June 24, 2015, Norman Wiggins passed away peacefully at 100 years of age.
Survived by his children: Norma Couper, Carole (Richard) Baxter, Evelyn Zavislake and Rhonda Corrigan; grandchildren: Jane (Mark) Alm, Vincent (Valerie) Meier, Daphne Couper, Ray (Lianne) Couper, and Patrick Corrigan; seven great- grandchildren, and two great-great- grandchildren, sister: Gwen Bamber, and brother: Ernie Wiggins. Norman was predeceased by wife of 66 years Laura Wiggins (nee Johnston), his daughter Muriel Doreen Tervonen; granddaughters Anne-Marie Couper; and Mary Lynn Couper; sons-in-law David Couper; and Duncan Zavislake.
Viewing at Serenity Funeral Service, 5311 – 91 Street, Edmonton on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 from 8:00 - 9:00 p.m.; Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Southside Church of the Nazarene, 10712 – 29 Avenue, Edmonton, with Doctor Doug Herbert officiating; previewing at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 16204 Fort Road, Edmonton at 3:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to S.T.A.R.S., Bldg. #16, 29 Airport Road, Edmonton, T5G 0W6. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at St. Joseph's Auxiliary Hospital who cared so much for Norman during his time there.

I only knew him as Grandpa. He instilled his knowledge and work ethic within all of us. He taught me how to use a hammer - building Dave Couper's home near Myrnam, Alberta.
I drove his Delta 88 by myself down all the dirt roads I could find - going faster than I should have. He probably never knew that I borrowed it. When we drove home back to Edmonton together he let me drive and told me that I was a good driver!! I was 15 at the time. I never told him how fast that Romanian tractor of his could go.

My memories of Brother Wiggins go back to Amber Valley when he would visit our church. He was always a humble man. So nice he lived to be 100 yrs. His life was well lived.

I am so sorry to read about the loss of your father. He made it to the 100 milestone! No matter what it is never easy to lose a parent. We have fond memories of Norman & Laura, dating back to the 70s when we were neighbours. They looked after our son Aaron while we worked and treated us like family. We last visited Norman in his high rise apartment. He always had a positive attitude and a good sense of humour. Thinking of you as you celebrate his life.
