I met Alan when I was a freshman undergraduate. Over many campfires in Baja California, Mexico I listened to him talk about archaeology. He always talked so highly about the library at UC Berkeley that I decided to apply for graduate school. I will be getting my PhD next spring. I can't thank you enough for your encouragement. I will miss you greatly.
