The family of Anton Tomkow sadly announce his passing on January 25, 2014 at the age of 90 years.
Anton is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Minnie; daughters, Linda Larson and Pat Hagel; son, Leonard (Evelyn); five grandchildren, Dwain (Leona), Tiffany (Mark) Tomlinson, Mark (Jen), Sharon (Ron) Swischook and Sharlene (Brian) De Rijck; five great grandchildren, Larissa, Dryden, Archie Tomlinson, Cody and Bryce De Rijck; sister, Helen Karenko; sisters-in- law, Angeline Tomko and Pat Tomkow; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Pearl, and step-mother, Barbara; sons- in-law, Don Larson and Sam Hagel; sisters, Mary (Frank) Kozdrowski, Rosie (Joe) Kowalchuk; brothers, Steve, Paul (Katie) and Frank; brother-in-law, Jim Karenko.
The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and caregivers at the Sturgeon Hospital, Citadel West and Citadel Care Centre.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church, 75 Poirier Avenue, St. Albert. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Anton's name to the Alberta Diabetes Foundation, 1-020 Li Ka Shing Centre for Health Research Innovation, University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB, T6G 2E1.
