The Guest Book is expired.
February 11, 2004 - December 27, 2012
With broken hearts and wounded souls we regretfully advise that our beloved little boy passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012, just shy of his 9th birthday, surrounded by his family. Cole was diagnosed with a Cancerous Brain and Spinal Tumor in January of 2012. For the past year, Cole fought a courageous fight, seldom with a complaint, instead still living life to its fullest. During his short life, Cole did a lot of living, as his family never were ones to sit still. Cole got to go to both Disneyland, Disneyworld, Hawaii four times, Kelowna, Banff, a Houseboat trip in B.C., and frequently went to the family cabin where he enjoyed the hot tub, fishing from the dock, family fires, fireworks, and most of all a big inflatable water slide, that his dad had rigged up to have warm water. Cole was an extremely intelligent little boy, with a great sense of humor. Cole was loved by all and had developed a lot of friendships in his short years. After the onset of the tumors, and subsequent treatments, Cole had to give up a lot his physical activities such as hockey. However, because Cole was so intelligent, and because he spent a lot of time in hospitals, he became a technology wiz. Cole would spend time playing video games, and time on his I-pad or I-pod. Cole loved to watch videos on You Tube, especially America's Funniest Home Videos. His favorite videos were anything with a baby that did anything funny. As for video games he loved anything with Mario. In Cole's final weeks he really enjoyed cuddling with his mom, and sitting quietly with his dad building Lego.
Cole leaves to morn his great loss, his Mom and Dad, Jodi and Edward (Ted) Parent, and his Sister Makenna Parent. Cole also leaves behind his Grandparents on both sides, Ted and Wendy Parent / Clarence and Evelyn Cleveland, as well as his Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Cole was predeceased by his Aunty Kara Parent, whom loved spending time with him especially playing board games like checkers. A special thanks must go to Dr. Vivek Mehta, and his entire team, at the Edmonton Stollery Children's Hospital, who fought so valiantly to try and save our boy.
It is our wish that instead of flowers, a donation be made to the Edmonton Stollery Children's Hospital in his name.
Goodbye our little champion, I hope they have video games in heaven, because when it came to being a great kid, you already got the high score.
You will be missed beyond measure.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, 13 Brower Drive in Sherwood Park with interment in Glenwood Memorial Gardens.
