Doris JAMESON Obituary

Published by Edmonton Journal on May 23, 2012.
JAMESON, Doris M. (nee Dunn)
March 2, 1918 - May 21, 2012
Doris passed away on May 21, 2012 at the age of 94. Born in Wolseley, Saskatchewan, she was the daughter of John Dunn and Ida Pearl (Chatterson) Dunn. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She took an active interest in sports all her life, playing baseball, curling and golf and in later years remained an avid fan. A keen competitor, she had an unerring sense of fair play and sportsmanship. She was trained as a teacher and taught in Elisborough, Melfort, and Lloydminster before stopping to raise a family. She maintained an interest in children, coaching, tutoring and helping them whenever she could. She was very active in the United Church in Lloydminster and Delisle and volunteered for many community events and activities. She enjoyed any type of card game and was particularly fond of bridge. She loved to regale her family with stories of growing up on the farm and her early days of teaching.
She is survived by her son Robert (Ruth) Jameson, their children Ryan and Amber, her daughter Mary Smith-Lattta and her children Jaime Smith, Leslie (Ryan) Anderson, and Matt Smith. She was predeceased by her husband George, brother Cecil Dunn, and sister Isabel Holz.
A Memorial for Doris will be held at Country Cottage where she was a resident for the past nine years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Delisle United Church, Delisle, SK S0L 0P0.
