He was born on September 28, 1939 to Duncan and Marjorie (nee: Shand) Harvey in Hardisty, AB, the eldest of three children. He met and married his bride in 1960 and a few years later he settled his young family in the Ardrossan area and commenced a lengthy career as a pipefitter. He loved going on cattle drives, gardening, golfing and enjoying a laugh with his family and friends.
Lawrence is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carol (nee: Herbert): his children, Kevin (Erlinda), Brent (Shelley), Dawn Tkachyk (Todd Torraville), Candace Chamzuk (Randy); his ten grandchildren, Brett, Amber, Dominick, Elijah, Colton, Dante, Brandon, Lucas, Anthony and Joel; his brother Wayne (Carolyn) of Fort Saskatchewan; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Lawrence was predeceased by his brother, Leon, his mother and his father.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at the Ardrossan Recreation Complex, 80 - 1 Avenue, Ardrossan, AB on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ken Grambo officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Palliative Care Unit at the Grey Nuns Hospital or STARS Air Ambulance.
