KLASZUS, Ernst
December 11, 1929 – November 10, 2012
Ernst Klaszus passed away in St. Albert with his loving family by his side. Born in Tilsit, East Prussia, Ernst came to Alberta in 1965, working as a pastor and educator. He became known as "Mr. Tree" through his work with the Junior Forest Wardens.
He was predeceased by two daughters, Annette and Margaret, and a son, Mark. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Barbara; their children Judith (Tim) Burns, Christel (Walter) Laboucane and Fred (Rhonda) Klaszus; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He left a magnificent legacy in the many trees he planted.
The family thanks Dr. Thomas Mueller for his exceptional care of Ernst. Memorial service at Bethel Lutheran Church, Sherwood Park, on Saturday, November 24 at 2 p.m. Please donate to Bethel's Kenya mission in lieu of flowers.
