Flordeliza Arandia Zumel, 72, went to be with the Lord on September 23, 2012 at the Cross Cancer Institute, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on January 8, 1940 in Lemery, Batangas, Philippines. She was the founder, advisor and member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Batanguenos in Edmonton, a member of the Filipino Women's Association and past treasurer of the Filipino Senior Citizens Association.
She is survived by her loving husband, Cesar; son, Cesar Jr.; daughter-in-law, Juvy; grandson, Jared; sisters, Maria Rivera, Lita Makalintal (Juanito) and Levy Ahorro (Rene); brothers, Martin Arandia and Ireneo Arandia (Hayde); as well as nieces, nephews and grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Francisco Arandia Sr. and Isabel Arandia and her brother Francisco Arandia Jr. (Lolit).

Visitations will take place at St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert on Thursday, September 27, 2012 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. A prayer service will take place at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Parish, 75 Poirier Avenue, St. Albert on Friday, September 28 at11:00 a.m. with an interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
