LARSEN, George (Jorgen)
February 6, 1935 - April 30, 2013
George (Jorgen) Larsen, of Edmonton, Alberta, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2013, at the age of 78.
George was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. He immigrated to Canada with his family in 1966, and worked as a Plumber in the commercial construction industry, later as a pipefitter in the Oil and Gas Industry. By all accounts he was a hard worker and a staunch supporter of his union. At first he found it difficult coming to a new country, but it was not long before he embraced Canada with enthusiasm. One of his favorite sayings was "we sure have it good here". George loved to travel with his dear wife, Thyra. Together they visited many exotic and interesting places.
He will be missed and remembered by his
wife of 58 years, Thyra, his son Kim (Joanne) his daughter, Lotte (Billy Keddie), his grandchildren Mark (Angie), Amber (Mikael), great-grandson Colton, and also many relatives and friends in Denmark.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration
of his Life will be held at the Strathcona Legion, 9020 - 51 Avenue N.W., Edmonton,
AB on Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
