WALLER, George
February 1, 1918 – September 29, 2013
George passed peacefully away on September 29, 2013 comforted with the company of his three daughters.
He was born in Edmonton and it is there that he lived his entire life. He worked as an aircraft mechanic for American Airlines before he moved on to Northwest Industries where he remained until his retirement at age 65.
George is remembered as: an ardent fisherman (ice was a welcome challenge), an inventive mechanic, an instinctive gardener, and an avid storyteller.
His happy home was likely to be found filled with family, friends, and/or neighbors who dropped by to have George fix this or that, or even just to chat - which was unlikely as his gregarious nature would inevitably turn such a chat in to a therapy session since as much as he liked to talk his gigantic ears were always ready to listen and the garage door was always open.
George is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Hannah, his three daughters, Diane Bondy (Bill), Doreen Chapman (Don), Georgie Weeks (Kevin), eight grandchildren and thirteen great- grandchildren.
A private gathering will be held for a celebration of his admirable life with family and friends. George was an inspiration to all who knew him and he will be forever in our hearts.
