MUNK, Gordon
With great sadness we announce the passing of Gordon Munk, loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend, on December 12, 2012.
Born in Thorsby in 1938, Gord spent his youth in Breton. Gord completed Mining Engineering in 1961 at U of A. Gordon and Margaret married in 1964, raising two boys in Edmonton. He worked 28 years for Northwestern Utilities, and then retired to Salt Spring Island in 1996. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; sister, Linda Hein (Danny); sons, Kevin and Trevor (Jill); grandchildren, Sydney, Samantha, and Stephan, and extended family.
A service to celebrate Gordon's life will be held on Saturday, December 22, 1:00 p.m. at Connelly & McKinley Sherwood Park-Mill Woods Chapel, 4820 Meridian Street, Edmonton (Meridian Street can only be accessed heading SOUTH on Hwy 216 (Anthony Henday); - the access is 1 km south of the Sherwood Park Freeway on Hwy 216).
In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
