EVANS, Harriet Ellen
August 9, 1922 - May 17, 2013
It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Harriet Ellen Evans on May 17, 2013 at the Kipness Centre for Veterans.
Harriet was born in Cwmgwrach, South Wales. She served in the British Army during WWII as a Non-commissioned Officer in the ATS. During demobilization, she met her husband Evan Evans of 67 years. They started their married life in England before immigrating to Canada in 1957 with their young son Trevor. Harriet loved being a Canadian, she often mentioned how lucky people were to live in such a great country.
Harriet will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Evan; her son, Trevor; her daughter- in-law, Giselle; and numerous nieces and nephews in Canada, England and Wales.
We take comfort in knowing she is at peace. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Kipness staff for their kindness and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kipness Centre for Veterans.
A Celebration of Harriet's Life will be held at Howard & McBride Westlawn Chapel, 16310 Stony Plain Road, Edmonton, on Monday, May 27, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
