Kelvin Mok Kwong Loun passed away peacefully at the age of 70 on the morning of January 29, 2013 after a long battle with cancer.
He is survived by his loving son, Peng; brother: Mok Kwong Kee; sisters: Mok Wai Pun, Jennifer Ng, and Wendy Tang.
He will be remembered fondly as a cheerful and generous uncle by his nieces and nephews in Canada, Singapore, and around the world. His circle of close friends and fellow hobbyists will miss his joyful demeanor and passion for life and conversation.
Born on September 26, 1942 in Singapore, Kelvin was a man of many interests and talents. Formally trained as a biologist, he retained a lifelong interest in life sciences, but spent the majority of his professional career as a technologist and inventor. He enjoyed time on his hobbies including model miniatures, electronics, and do-it-yourself projects. He retired from working life in 1999 and pursued an interest in Chinese history and culture, traveling to China twice.
We would like to thank family and friends for their love and support. A gathering to Celebrate Kelvin's life will be held from
3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Appel Funeral Homes, 10530 - 116 Street, Edmonton, Alberta. Cremation to follow.
In lieu of floral tributes, donations may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T6G 1Z2.
