FAGNAN, Marcel Rosaire
1924 - 2013
In the early morning of January 2, 2013, Marcel Fagnan of Edmonton, Alberta passed away peacefully at the age of 88.
He will be lovingly remembered by his family; survived by his four children, Julien Fagnan (Sheila), Vivianne Fagnan, Léo Fagnan (Shannon) and Suzanne Flokstra (Dan); his five grandchildren; one brother, Gaston and one sister, Cecile; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Born in Vimy, Alberta in a family of ten brothers and four sisters, he enlisted in the army on his 18th birthday and served in World War II where he saw active duty in France.
Marcel volunteered for many organizations and charities including Edmonton Hospitals, the Food Bank and the Knights of Columbus; where he was a member for more than fifty years.
Prayers will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011 - 114 Street, Edmonton. A Mass of Christian Burial to follow on Monday, January 7, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Joseph's Basilica, 10044 - 113 Street, Edmonton with Father Miguel Irizar officiating. Interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, 14611 Mark Messier Trail NW.
A special thank you to all the caring staff at the Kipnes Centre for Veterans and Rosedale at Griesbach.
