Memories of her kindness, generosity, elegance, adventurous spirit, devotion to church, love of baking and dedication as a wife, mother, grandmother and friend will live on for those deeply touched by her.
On March 9, 2012 in Edmonton, Marjorie Scott, in her 90th year, passed away in the arms of her children. Born August 29, 1922 in Lethbridge, she is predeceased by her parents John and Nellie Sayers, brothers Jackie and Edwin and her beloved husband George E. O. Scott.
Marjorie will be greatly missed by her son George, her daughter Laura and husband David Kilgour, her grandchildren Margot (Nathaniel Ramm), Eileen, David (Ella Hatfield), and Hilary, her great-grandson Malachy Kilgour, Judit, Catherine, Greg, Christina and Anita Kovacs, Tierra and Vladimir, her extended family and many friends.
The family thanks Dr Ron Barton, the staff and volunteers of Unit 9Y at the Edmonton General for their care and compassion and also the staff and residents of Rosedale Manor for their support.
A celebration of Marjorie's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 24 at Strathcona Presbyterian Church (8116 - 105 Street, Edmonton). Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations to Presbyterian World Service and Development (50 Wynford Drive, Toronto ON M3C 1J7) directed to projects empowering girls and women throughout the world or to the Memorial Fund of Strathcona Presbyterian Church.
