PARTRIDGE, Martine Christa Colleen
August 28, 1977 – May 21, 2017
Our beloved Martine passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday May 21, 2017 surrounded by her loving husband Paul, devoted parents Barbara and Allan, and her adored Shih-Tzu, Henry.
Pursuing her love of the English language, Martine graduated from MacEwan University in 2009 with a B.A. in English, honours with distinction. She then attended the University of Edinburgh in 2010 and received her Masters in Literature with first class honours.
Upon returning to Canada, Martine taught Medical Transcription, Captioning and Court Reporting, Liberal Arts/Academic Upgrading, and Bachelor of Business Administration at NAIT from September 2010 to 2013. She also taught in the English Department at MacEwan University from 2012 to 2016. Martine also freelanced as a communications consultant.
Martine loved life, her family, reading, yoga and travelling extensively. She shared her love of food by starting a food blog to help others with autoimmune diseases, specifically Crohn's Disease, through, which grew to be enjoyed by thousands around the world.
Forever in our hearts and lovingly remembered by her husband, Paul Lumsden; parents, Barb and Allan Partridge; grandfather, Ray Partridge; stepchildren, Kale, Cass and Quinn; uncles, Johnnie Martin (Annie), David Martin, and David Partridge (Amor); and cousins, Bryan, Cally, Chuck, Jake Martin, Justin, Andrea, Kiley Flack, and Bryan Partridge.
The family wishes to express their thanks to the Palliative Care Unit at the Grey Nuns for their excellent care and compassion. A Celebration of Martine's life will be held at Howard & McBride Chapel of Chimes, 10179 108 Street, Edmonton on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow in honor of Martine.
