POPOWICH, Melanie Alyson
(nee Callan)
April 19, 1979 - January 10, 2013
It is with immeasurable sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beautiful Melanie.
Her love and spirit will be forever missed by her parents, Wayne and Diane Callan, sister Shannon (Jay), sister Danielle (John), her nephew Nathan and nieces Emma and Sloan. Melanie also leaves behind her grandparents Ron and Vi Spratt, Paulette Callan as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
From a young age Mel had an amazing way of connecting with others, a passion for volunteering and making a difference in other people's lives.
A Celebration of Melanie's life will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Maple Leaf Room at Lister Centre, University of Alberta, on the corner of 87th Avenue and 116th Street.
In lieu of flowers, please honour Melanie's memory by making a contribution to a vision that she was very passionate about - building a Global Mamas fair trade centre in Ghana. Please visit
