LYSKO, Mike Marian
November 24, 1922 - September 18, 2013
It is with great sorrow and loss that we announce the passing of our father and grandfather Mike Lysko, on September 18, 2013 at the age of 90 years.
Mike was born in Lvov, Ukraine and in 1948 he came to Canada where he settled in Edmonton. Mike was a member of the Ukrainian National Federation where he formed many close and life long friendships. He started his work in roofing and worked for various companies in that industry. It was at this time that he met his wife of 54 years, Maria, and they were married on December 28, 1957. Mike began his career with the provincial government in Calgary as a roofing inspector. After twenty years of service he ventured off to start his own inspection company until his retirement at the young age of 88 years.
Pa you will always be in our hearts; and will be truly missed by all who knew you.
Mike was predeceased by his beloved wife Maria in June of 2013. He is now survived by his daughter, Yvonne Lysko; son, Michael Lysko Jr. (Sheri) and their daughter Avee; and by numerous extended family in Calgary, Edmonton, the United States and in the Ukraine.
Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway's Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W., Calgary, AB), on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to Dr. Belenkie, his R.N. Tracy and the entire staff of Unit 91 at the Foothills Medical Centre for their care and compassion to their father.
In living memory of Mike Lysko, a tree will be planted at Big Hill Springs Park.
