FENIAK, Sophie (nee Lungul)
September 16, 1919 - August 15, 2012
Sophie peacefully passed away at age 92, leaving memories of a loving woman who always understood that the true treasures in life are family and friends. Her petite frame only barely contained a dynamic spirit that left all who knew her with smiles.
Born on a farm near Smoky Lake and a long- time resident of Edmonton, Sophie was always interested in the world and people around her. She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend - and a great cook, as her wide community of friends appreciated.
She will be lovingly remembered by children Roslyn, Christine (Jim MacDonald), David (Barbara) and Betty; grandchildren Jessica, Brendan, Calvin, Spencer and Grace; and sisters Wasylana (Mike) Sochatsky and Pearl (George) Gunn.
Sophie was predeceased by Russel, her beloved husband of 59 years, and sisters Savata, Katy and Pauline.
The family would like to thank the Allen Gray Continuing Care Centre for its care and friendship.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 20 at 2 p.m. at Ottewell United Church, 6611 - 93 A Avenue, Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Society of Canada or the charity of one's choice.
